Summer Mantel 2014

Hello, hello dear friends!

I feel like my motto should be,
"So much to do, so little time."

We are looking at maybe another week or two of total
craziness and then, with any luck,
I can finally put some of these grandiose ideas/projects
that I've been dreaming up into action.

Why is it that I am always full of ideas when
I don't have the time to try any of them?

Anyway, enough of the complaining,
let's take a look at the summer mantel.

My plan was light, bright & simple.
Aqua, lime green & white.

I had everything you see here except for the
spools of green baker's twine.
I found them at Hobby Lobby...they're so cute!

I bought this wooden window thing a few years back while
we were on vacation in the Lake George area.
I have no idea what its former life was,
but someone was smart enough to repurpose it with these burlap
pockets.  It was filled with red geraniums when I bought it
and it was love at first sight!

A little something for interest at the bottom of the fireplace.

Light, bright & simple....
Happy Summer!

  1. Pretty summer mantel, Gina! I love the bright cheery colors.

  2. Looks beautiful, Gina! Your color scheme is so pretty.

  3. Gina, I love it! The window thingy is fabulous! Love the color combination. I did a vignette with bakers twine also. Gotta love it!

  4. Wow! I would never have thought to put the aqua and lime green together. It is beautiful and so Springtime cherry. You've given me some idea. I hope it's okay if I'm a copy cat.

  5. Beautiful! I love how you put everything together and the blues and greens on your mantel look so pretty! Hang on for another week or 2 and let the crafting begin :-)

  10. What a great color combination!! Everything looks so fresh and, well, summery (is that a word??).
WA new Hobby Lobby was recently opened in my town and I have have time to visit it only once, which is a sure sign that I have been too busy! This mantel might be my favorite one, ever, by the way!

  11. Adorable as always. LOVE the color combo. Happy Summer Gina!

  12. It looks lovely, so bright and summery!

  13. Ooooh, I love that color combo, and it definitely says "Summertime, and the livin' is easy!" That window thing looks like it could be an old-fashioned storm shutter, but what do I know. I've just seen something similar in old movies taking place in the south. I think it was perfectly repurposed!

  14. O, glad to see you...thanks for coming by.
I am IN LOVE with your summer mantel..these are my favorite new colors and now, even tho I just finished a summer mantel, I want to throw it all out and start all over.:)

  15. What a happy summer mantel!! Love the color combination you used.

Now that I have a mantle to decorate again, I'm going to go back and look at some of your ideas.
I might borrow and idea or two ;)
