I posted several months ago about a big Spring project we would be undergoing.
Well, the project is officially underway. The contractors arrived yesterday morning.
To quote one of my favorites, Willy Wonka (& Shakespeare), "Adieu, adieu, parting is such sweet sorrow." This, I say, to that lavender tile.
Our bathroom has gone from the Art Deco era...
...to demolition...
...to nothing but a shell:
Actually I think it's gone farther back in time now...it looks like an outhouse at this point, don't you think, Laura Ingalls?
In all the places we've lived, we've only ever made cosmetic changes...paint, floors, lighting, countertops. Nothing major. This is the first room that has ever been gutted clean.
Who's idea was this anyway? :-D

What a mess! What is your time table on finishing your bath? Don't kill me, but I love your black and white (newly demolished) pinwheel pattern tile. But can I tell ya that lavender is my least favorite color...ever....because it reminds me of a coffin or casket liner. *sorry* I can't wait to see your finished bath.
ReplyDeleteI know it's a lot of work, but I also know you must be so excited about the finished product.
ReplyDeleteGina, this scares me...But I can't wait to see it when it's done... Good luck...

WOW!! That is one clean out bathroom!! I know where you are at sista!!! I had flashbacks of the little flip it house we did seeing that truck filled with trash!! It will be amazing when you are done!! Happy reno!!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, you are brave! When I was just starting high school we moved to So Cal into a 1920's bunglaow that my mom and stepdad were constantly ripping apart and remodeling...our house looked like this most of the time!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see when it's done:)
Whew...what a project. Can't wait to see it.

ReplyDeleteBig job! We had this tile in a bathroom back in the 80's and it was pretty cool then~ I found Laura Ashley wallpaper that co-ordinated and I was the hit of the block. lol Good luck- I know what a job renovations can be! xo Diana
